 FAQs

  • We treat shoes like fashion accessories even though they are medical devices—so they’re one of the most interesting usability challenges. It’s part creative (pattern-making), meditative (stitching), and hard work (soling).

  • No—which is a shame, I love their onions.

  • No, but I get that a lot.

  • Nope—that’s Tim Kim.

  • Funny story—I used to get junk mail in Arabic from satellite TV companies. I had no idea why until ~2009 when I made some friends from Egypt, and they explained that Hamada is a nickname for Mohammed. That’s much cooler than the actual meaning, mountain farmer.

  • I was born and raised on Oahu, the island Waikiki is on. I grew up on the side with the Disney resort, but long before the resort existed.
